School Rules
Every student must have the opportunity to obtain an education in an environment which is safe and free from distractions. It is each person’s responsibility to help maintain an environment conducive to learning. Every student will be informed of the school rules on the first day of school and will be reminded of appropriate behavior throughout the year. Please be advised of the following behavior expectations:
Students will:
- arrive in class on time with proper materials
- show respect, be cooperative, courteous, and follow the directions of school personnel
- not disrupt the learning environment
- respect the property of the school and others
- cooperatively solve problems in a nonphysical manner
Consequences:
- Verbal warning
- Student/teacher conference
- Parent/teacher conference
- Referral to administrator
Bus Conduct
The conduct of students riding Fresno Unified or chartered buses will be the joint responsibility of the school site administrator, the bus driver, and the parent. Because school bus passengers’ behavior can directly affect their safety and the safety of others, students must follow bus rules.
Violations include:
- leaving the seat while the bus is in motion
- putting any part of the body out of the bus
- using profanity/vulgar language/gestures
- eating/drinking on the bus
- having dangerous objects
- not following proper bus procedures
- being defiant or needing constant correction
- fighting
- damaging/defacing the bus
- making unnecessary noise or commotion
- throwing objects from the bus window
- actions determined by the bus driver to be dangerous to his passengers, self or the public
Parents will be notified of violations. In case of a severe violation or repeated offenses, the rider may be denied transportation for a period of time determined by the school administrator in consultation with the Transportation Department.
